Sunsetting Pinkary
Pinkary goes offline on December 1. Export what you want to keep, and come say hi on devnull.
We’re sunsetting Pinkary. It keeps working exactly like today until December 1. After that, a static page replaces it until the end of the year. On January 1, we take down and delete all of its infrastructure.
What you should do
Export anything you want to keep before December 1: your links, your posts, anything that matters to you. After that day, the website is a static page, and there’s nothing left to export.
Then give devnull a try. It’s the spiritual successor to Pinkary.
Why
Once we built devnull, it became obvious to us that devnull is pretty much Pinkary 2. Running both makes no sense, so all our effort goes to devnull from now on.
The ride
Pinkary started as a weekend project. It reached 1,000 users on its first weekend, and it went viral enough to be fun for a while.

It showed that, right before the AI era, you could still build a social network on a weekend and get hundreds of people to use it.
Over the years, it evolved a lot, thanks to a lot of contributors. One of them above all: Punyapal. He was a major part of Pinkary, and he’s absolutely awesome. Thank you for everything you’ve done for it, my friend.

The code stays
The code stays open source. Check it out at github.com/pinkary-project/pinkary.com.
I’ve used Pinkary all these years, and I’ll miss it. See you next time. Peace out.
